Dr. Jo-Anne Monteiro graduated from MM Robinson High School in Burlington. She then attended the University of Waterloo and graduated with her Doctor of Optometry degree in 1985. After gaining valuable experience in optometric care while working at various optometric clinics in southern Ontario, she opened her own clinic in 1998 in Burlington on William O’Connell Drive. She moved the clinic to its present location on Appleby Line in 2009, growing it into a full scope family orientated progressive clinic that offers exceptional service and quality eye wear product. Her mission statement: A visible difference in professional eyecare!
She is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrist and the Canadian Association of Optometrists. Over the years she has given many talks to various organizations about the importance of eye care, especially childrens’ eye care, and sponsored multiple local teams and clubs.
Dr. Margaret Corey completed her undergraduate degree and then her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo in 1999. While pursuing her Optometry degree she completed an externship at Barnet-Dulaney Eye Center in Mesa, Arizona, where she was actively involved in the pre-and post- operative management of cataract, glaucoma, refractive procedures, and retinal disease. She also participated in a volunteer mission to central Mexico as a part of the I-Care International organization performing free eye examinations to a community in need.

Dr. Corey spent the first 6 years of her career in London Ontario in a private optometry practice as well as at TLC London where she was responsible for patient care on surgical days and was the emergency on-call Optometrist after hours. Ten years ago Dr. Corey joined Dr. Jo-Anne Monteiro and Associates and has thoroughly enjoyed being a part of a growing and progressive full scope optometric practice.
Dr. Corey is an active member of the Oakville Soccer Club and the Oakville Curling Club and shares her love of sports, travel and the outdoors with her husband and young children.

Dr. Fordjour graduated with honours from University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 2007. Prior to that she received her honours Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from University of Windsor in 2003. She completed her ocular health rotation at Houston Eye Associates in Houston, TX. Dr. Fordjour has a passion for ocular health, family, and pediatric optometry. She is licensed to prescribe pharmaceuticals and is adept at fitting contact lenses. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, yoga, and photography. Dr. Fordjour is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists and is in good standing with the College of Optometrists of Ontario.
Originally from Dundas, Ontario, Dr. Epstein attended the University of Waterloo where he graduated on the Dean’s List with a Bachelor of Science.  He then moved to Boston for the Doctorate of Optometry program at the prestigious New England College of Optometry.  Dr. Epstein completed three internships in Miami, FL., Salt Lake City, UT., and Portland, OR., where he worked closely with industry leading optometrists and ophthalmologists, gaining valuable experience in treating glaucoma, macular degeneration and other various ocular diseases.  Once graduated, he moved to beautiful Victoria, BC., for an opportunity to practice primary eye care.  After spending four years on Vancouver Island, the decision was made to return home to Southern Ontario in 2012, where he joined the practice of Dr. Jo-Anne Monteiro and Associates.

Dr. Epstein performs eye exams on all ages with special interests in fitting complex contact lens cases, treatment and management of ocular disease and early detection childhood eye conditions.

Dr. Epstein currently lives in Burlington and is actively involved in the community.  He is happily married with 2 boys and when not at work, he enjoys hiking and playing outdoors with his family and his dog, Boston.  He is an avid cyclist, who rides his bike all over Ontario and hopes to continue his professional career in ‘old-timer’ hockey.

Dr. Carolyn Kwiat graduated from the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry, in 2007. She practiced in the Lindsay/Peterborough area for many years and has now put down roots in Burlington. She is a member of both the Canadian and Ontario Association of Optometrists and enjoys all aspects of comprehensive eye care. In February 2016, Carolyn traveled to Nicaragua with the Ascenta Foundation where they provided medical, dental and optometric care to over 2000 underprivileged people. She is always accepting patients of all ages and can often be heard within the office laughing with her pediatric ones – a passion of hers!
Dr. Paul Zaugg graduated from Nova Southeastern University in 2012. He has experience fitting contact lenses, treating ocular disease and post surgical care including LASIK. He enjoys volunteering in the community and has participated in several humanitarian missions to Haiti.
